Interest Areas
My name is Michelle, and I am a Registered Psychologist with a background in education, counselling, and psychology. Throughout my career, I have been drawn to supporting people through life's challenges and helping them move forward with greater confidence and resilience. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where people feel comfortable, understood, and accepted from the moment they walk through the door.
Before becoming a psychologist, I spent many years working in education as a teacher and student wellbeing across schools, colleges, community organisations, and private practice. During this time, I provided counselling, behavioural support, wellbeing programs, and pastoral care while working closely with children, adolescents, adults, and families. These experiences continue to shape the way I work today and have strengthened my desire to become a psychologist.
As a psychologist, I provide counselling, and evidence-based intervention for children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have also worked closely with individuals experiencing Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, learning difficulties, and disabilities, supporting both clients and their families.
I aim to create a warm and supportive environment where people feel comfortable being themselves. I understand that reaching out for support can sometimes feel difficult, and I believe that feeling safe, listened to, and understood is an important foundation for therapy. I also value working collaboratively with parents, schools, allied health professionals, and other supports when appropriate, recognising that working together often provides the best opportunity to achieve positive outcomes.
My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) forming a core foundation. I also draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and strategies to meet the individual needs of each client, including behavioural strategies, emotional regulation, psychoeducation, strengths-based approaches, and parent support.
My hope is that through our work together, people come to see themselves with greater understanding, compassion, and confidence.
