Clinical Psychologist

Completed at least a 6-year university degree (including post-graduate qualifications, such as a Masters or Doctorate), as well as a 2-year registrar program including continued professional development, training and supervised practice in the area of Clinical Psychology. Clinical psychologists use their knowledge of psychology and mental health for the assessment, diagnosis, formulation, treatment, and prevention of psychological problems and mental illness across the lifespan. They research psychological problems and use their psychological knowledge to develop scientifically based approaches to improve mental health and wellbeing. Clinical Psychologists often utilise their dedicated knowledge and experience of mental health/disorders to work clients experiencing more severe symptoms or complex issues.

 

Registered Psychologist/Clinical Psychology Registrar

Is a fully registered general psychologist who has completed at least a 6-year university degree (including post-graduate qualifications, such as a Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology). They are currently in the process of undertaking a supervised registrar program to gain recognition as an endorsed Clinical Psychologist (with the skills as articulated above). They practice under the clinical supervision of our Senior and Principal Psychologists who are Board-Approved Supervisors to ensure they are delivering high-quality care and are developing all the necessary skills to be recognised as a Clinical Psychologist.

 

Registered Psychologist

Our registered psychologists hold at least a 4-year undergraduate degree in psychology, and have since undertaken a Psychology Board of Australia-approved internship program that has included 2 years of supervised practice and professional development to gain full general registration as a psychologist. Registered psychologists offer a broad range of interventions and therapies, and may have very diverse areas of interest and any many years of expertise. Provisional Psychologist

A provisional psychologist is currently undertaking accredited training (such as a Masters of Clinical Psychology or a Psychology Board of Australia-approved internship program) to work towards gaining full registration as a psychologist. They work under the clinical supervision of our Senior and Principal Psychologists who are Board-Approved Supervisors to ensure they are delivering high-quality care.

 

Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

To become a Social Worker, completion of a 4-year undergraduate degree is required. This degree covers counselling interventions and human development. After completion of their undergraduate, they can choose to complete further training with a focus on particular client presentations, types of therapies or interventions. This additional training gives them clinical status and the title 'Accredited Mental Health Social Worker’. Those with the title 'Accredited Mental Health Social Worker’ have undertaken 2 years of supervised practice in the mental health field in delivering evidence-based therapies.
